Buenos Aires, December 16 (NA) -- Marcelo Moretti reaffirmed that he will not resign as president of San Lorenzo and confirmed that he will continue to lead the club during a critical period in its political life.

According to Noticias Argentinas, the meeting of the Board of Directors, scheduled for Tuesday at 11 AM in the Pedro Bidegain stadium box, could not be held in full because several executives had to appear before the Public Prosecutor's Office.

For this reason, the meeting was adjourned and will reconvene at 5 PM, when decisions are expected regarding the club's leadership.

One of the executives who attended the judicial summons was Moretti himself, who made his position public: "I am not going to resign. It is important that we have the political maturity to understand the situation and today present a united front from the board of directors so that San Lorenzo can continue its natural course and begin to address the many issues that have been stalled."

Finally, the president stated that taking a leave of absence is not an option and that his intention is to continue his mandate at the helm. "We are analyzing how San Lorenzo can have the political continuity it needs. To agree with certain sectors of the opposition, as well as with the ruling party. The next few hours will be crucial in defining how the political leadership will be structured and who will be in charge of the club's daily decisions."

Moretti also highlighted the support received from the Argentine Football Association (AFA): "We thank, as always, the support of AFA, Chiqui Tapia, and Pablo Toviggino. A power vacuum is not recommended in these cases," expressed the blue-and-red president, who also confirmed his presence for the second part of the Board of Directors meeting. "We need to be very cautious and remain calm."
